HIGHLIGHTS 2025 EXHIBITION

Image
The Etobicocke Art Group had an annual members only show at the Neilson Park Creative Centre in early December.  I had a busy 2025 with trips and taking care of others aspects of my life...  I forgot to post it  earlier. Nevertheless I decided to share it with you now. I hope you enjoy the collagraph work I presented.

Making Impressions 2025

Image
This is the first time I am participating in a Printmakers Exhibition with the Etobicoke Art Group. The more experienced printmakers had helped me with the many details needed before putting the plate through the press when doing the collagraph I am sharing with you the three pieces I have presented. The "Making Impressions Exhibit" runs between October 14th and November 3rd at Neilson Park Creative Centre in Toronto. Meet the artists on the closing date from 1PM to 3PM.

Last Saturday was our final day for this show. It was very nice chatting with members after my winter absence. A great opportunity to catch up on their latest projects. In this photo I am with  Renee Makino who had two paintings between my two pieces of the Floating Series.  I took a short video but I was unable to upload it in this blog. If you have access to Instagram you can see more images and the reel @aliceberloni

HELLO FRIENDS!

Image
Since I have been spending most of my effort in maintaining my Instagram  updated I neglected to do the same with my blog. During the past three years I have been producing an immense amount of work both on canvas and paper. I was not too worry about showing the work, especially during the past three years. I concentrated in the exploration of different techniques and materials. I am sharing some of my collages, mono prints and mixed media. I have done quite successfully digital work with great acceptance from my followers on IG.` Monoprint on paper                                                               Collage and Monoprint on paper                                                       ...

Finally on Instagram!

Image
I would like to share with you that I have been posting regularly on Instagram for the past six months. I have been painting and doing collage for many years with short breaks due to my desire to dedicate more time to my family. The COVID pandemic has brought  me time to reflect, re - connect with loved ones and see more clearly the things that nourish my mind and soul. Please follow me and leave me your comment when you have time to send me a message.

"Fall- Once Again"... also finds a new home

Image
Fall- Once Again is a 42" x 48" acrylic painting on canvas. This time I have used a limited colour palette and knife technique. The new owner, a very loyal collector, commissioned this piece after seeing a small version in my studio done on paper (18" x 24" ). I find it difficult to part with some paintings. I would have loved to display Fall - Once Again in my studio... if I had enough walls. I am happy knowing that it is being enjoyed and appreciated in a new home.

Dean - Flying "V" finds a new home in 2020

Image
This mixed media painting, size 24"x 60" has been on my easel for a while with a ground of collage papers and abstracted classical guitars. I decided this year to honour some of the great rock guitarists  and their guitars. In that spirit I have included their names to my painting. My work was completed when, as the focal point, I added a Dean- Flying "V". I am happy to say that the painting has found a new home with a guitar collector and is hanging in his music room keeping company to a real Dean and other fine guitars.

I am including some photos from the event. To see close ups of my work please go to the previous post.

FIGURATIVE ABSTRACTIONS 2017 - 2019

Image
As part of my curiosity to explore other expressions of abstraction, I have been attending an open studio for several years. Drawing and painting the human body can be challenging when  the intention is abstracting. I  easily got caught in the many details of the figure and that wasn’t what I was after. I like to share with you some of my figurative work on canvas and on paper.

IMPACT 2019 Juried Exhibition , Toronto

Image
Although you haven’t heard from me in a long time, I have been painting consistently for the past two years. I  entered one of my large pieces and two of my New York Series in previous Impact Juried Exhibits . All three paintings were selected to participate in the 2016 and 2017 shows. I was happy seeing I was going in the right direction with my work. Eventually I will show the complete body of work of both series. For most part of 2018 I have concentrated on the exploration of new expressions in collage and image transfers. This year my focus is on work on paper using a combination of acrylic paint, water soluble pencils, neon paint and acrylic skins. This new series, called Under my Skin,  has already 15 pieces and although small in size, 12”x16”, the activity in them is very intense. Under my Skin #14 was selected by jurors Jennifer Cairns and Nathan Heuvingh to participate in this year’s  exhibition.
